Our Work
Community sensitization and awareness
Information is power". We conduct sensitization sessions on sexual and reproductive health and rights to educate women and girls about their bodies, menstrual health, and safe practices. Further, we organize sensitization forums to raise awareness about gender-based violence, legal rights, and available support systems.
Economic empowerment
Understanding the economic challenges that women and girls in our communities face, we distribute menstrual hygiene kits to girls and women in need, along with educational materials on menstrual health. We also provide financial assistance, and vocational training to widows and orphans to help them achieve financial independence.
Advocacy and Campaign
We run campaigns on social media, radio, and in the community to promote SRHR, prevent GBV, and support widows and orphans. We also host community dialogues and forums to discuss SRHR issues, GBV, and the needs of widows and orphans, fostering a supportive and informed community.
Partnership and collaboration.
To go fast, go alone, to go far, go with others" with this being our mantra, we collaborate with other NGOs, healthcare providers, and legal services to offer comprehensive support to beneficiaries and achieve our shared goal of women and girl empowerment.
Psychosocial support
At Thamini, we understand the benefit of mental wellness and the need for a support system to go through challenges. Our psychosocial support program creates a safe spaces for survivors of gender-based violence to share their experiences, receive emotional support, and access counseling services. Further, we establish support groups for widows and orphans to provide emotional support, guidance, and resources to help them cope with loss and challenges.
